300° of Difference

While IQF represents a step-up from standard freezing, it is also important to distinguish the different types of IQF, each yielding varying levels of quality.

Most producers use carbon dioxide or ammonia-based freezing, which freeze the food between -40°F and -80°F over time.

We however, specialize in cryogenic IQF using liquid nitrogen, a far superior option which freezes the food at -346°F.  This ultra-fast, deep freeze locks in the food's perfect taste and texture to the point where it is completely indistinguishable from its freshly-cooked counterpart.

IQF vs. The Norm

Old-fashioned freezing techniques typically result in large, ugly blocks of icy food which taste as unpleasant as they appear.

IQF elevates that standard and modernizes the world of frozen food to deliver on the high expectations of today's consumer.

What is IQF?

IQF (or Individually Quick Frozen) is a freezing method which freezes food in its natural individual pieces, rather than one large frozen brick.  The benefits: it's pourable, portionable, reheats evenly, and is astonishingly easy to prepare.

Our IQF rice and whole grains make healthy eating easy and accessible to everyone!

Frozen IQF Farro

Simplicity

Ready in minutes, not hours.  As simple as heating in a microwave or skillet.  No added water needed.  No cooking skills needed.

Our precision freezing ensures consistent taste and texture in every single grain.

The great benefits of frozen food should not come at a compromise.  Enjoy up to 24 months shelf life without giving up on taste and quality!

THE CRYOGENIC ADVANTAGE

Why This Matters

Put simply: slow freezing creates dull, mushy, flavorless food.

This happens when cellular breakdown occurs due to ice crystals forming inside each cell.

Conversely, cryogenic IQF freezes food so quickly that these crystals never form, keeping cell structure fully intact.  As a result, the food tastes exactly like freshly-cooked because no deterioration has occurred since that perfect moment.  Importantly, nutrients also remain intact without the need of chemical additives.  Clean labels are an important part of healthy eating, and that is all possible thanks to our advanced freezing technology.

FAQs

1. Why Choose IQF over other types of pre-cooked rice? There are many types of pre-cooked rice, but IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) is the clear winner when it comes to quality and health. Other pre-cooked rices include: dry instant rice and vacuum-packed bowls. Beware though, many of these shelf-stable options contain chemical preservatives, or have been cooked in their plastic packaging with unwanted additives. IQF offers long shelf life naturally without additives and preservatives.

2. I've seen frozen rice at the store before. Are all these considered IQF? Not necessarily. Many frozen rices are frozen in their bag or bowl, which is called "block frozen". Block frozen rice is frozen in a manner which degrades the taste, texture, and overall quality of the rice. For obvious reasons, it's also impossible to portion until defrosted. IQF on the other hand, each grain is frozen in-motion allowing for even-freezing. As a result, the grains are loose and pourable in the bag -- a MAJOR plus for both culinary teams and individuals at home!

3. Do I need a special freezer to store my IQF grains? No, your home freezer will store them just fine! No fancy equipment needed.

4. Do I need to add water when preparing my IQF grains? No, simply heat and serve! No extra water is necessary.
